What is Tolle Lege Day?

Tolle Lege Day is the Augustinian Friars’ annual day of giving. On this fifth annual Tolle Lege Day, our goal is to raise $500,000 from 1000+ donors in a 24 hour online fundraising event to support the friars and their ministries. We will come together with one mind and one heart as an Augustinian community to celebrate and bring awareness to the Augustinian Charism and all those who share in it.

When is Tolle Lege Day?

Tolle Lege Day will take place on Thursday, April 24, 2025, as we celebrate the Feast of the Conversion of St. Augustine.

Why "Tolle Lege"?

Tolle Lege means “take up and read.” These are the words that moved St. Augustine to pick up the Scriptures (St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans) and find his way to faith and ultimately to his Conversion.

Is my Tolle Lege Day gift tax deductible?

Yes! Your gift is tax-deductible as prescribed by law. You will receive an email confirmation that will serve as your receipt for tax purposes.

What will Tolle Lege Day gifts support?

Tolle Lege Day gifts support the same priorities of the Augustinian Fund—the care of our elderly and infirm friars, vocations and formation, Justice and Peace iniatives, Augustinian Foreign Missions, the National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia, and the Augustinian Defenders of the Rights of the Poor.

Is there a minimum donation amount?

No. Gifts of any amount are welcome and count for Tolle Lege Day. It’s all about your participation!

Are there other ways to make a gift instead of online?

Yes! You can respond to our Tolle Lege Day direct mail appeal which will be received in early March. Responses can be mailed to or dropped off at the Provincial Offices located at 214 Ashwood Road, Villanova, PA before April 24th and count toward Tolle Lege Day. You can also call us at (484) 424-9315 and we can take your credit card information over the phone.
